University own programmes:

University own degree programmes are offered in the following modalities or ways to study:

Taught programmes: Taught programmes are the most common courses provided as online programmes with modules and examinations.

Credits transfer: Credits transfer allows to transfer earned college and university credits (ECTS, semester hours) at a given level to a degree programme (Bachelor, Master, Doctor).

Validation: Validation awards university credits to professional qualifications using the European Qualifications Framework EQF, ECVET credits, CEU´s and comparable means of recommending credit to professional qualifications, certificates, licences.

Prior Learning Assessment: PLA is a combination of credits transfer, validation of professional qualifications and a portfolio component providing further evidence of certain skills and learning outcomes on part of the applicant.

Most higher education systems allow for a certain percentage of credits transfer, validation of professional qualifications and assessment of prior learning to count for a degree.

France (VAE, VES) allows for the completion of a degree programme by Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) only. That means a candidate can earn a doctor degree by demonstrating the learning of eight study years in a portfolio to be examined by the university. Similar regulations apply in Ireland.

Our university own degree programmes apply the APL standards in higher education and will award the graduate a university own degree awarded by a nationally recognised university.

University own degrees are fully legal and awarded in accordance with applicable study laws, however, they lack official recognition and will therefore not qualify for the execution of a regulated profession or academic recognition by another university or evaluation agency. However, university own degrees are most common globally and are often seen as a proven professional qualification to be accepted by individual employers on a case-by-case basis.

How does it work?

You are a candidate with a professional qualification and professional experience and would like to earn a degree awarded by a recognised university in order to demonstrate the qualification by means of a higher education credential.

The minimum requirements for the award of a university own degree based on credits transfer, validation of professional qualifications and experience, and prior learning assessment – whatever applies – are the following:

Bachelor of the University: 3 full study years, 180 ECTS credits, Level 6 EQF qualification.

Master of the University: 1 full study year, 60 ECTS credits, Level 7 EQF qualification. (After the level 6 EQF qualification or Bachelor)

Doctor of the University: 2 full study years, 120 ECTS credits, Level 8 EQF qualification. (After the level 7 EQF qualification or Master)

You need to submit the following:

Fill out the auto-evaluation form on the internet and submit it to us.

After we have contacted you, you need to send us the application forms signed and the documents required for application to the university.

We issue an admission evaluation report for each individual applicant, including the programme of study and degree requirements. Once accepted by the applicant, the applicant pays the tuition for the programme and can start.

All programmes are completed by a final examination conducted by the university faculty.
